SUMMARY: If you’re hiring, or looking to switch jobs in marketing, advertising or PR, here are links to more than 20 top executive search firms to help you with your search.
Note: We didn't bother to mention the really obvious ones — such as Management Recruiters International and Lynn Palmer — because we figured you already know about them. We also made certain all of these sites are currently listing jobs and actively recruiting.

Agency Central (UK)
A searchable directory of headhunters and job sites in the UK, with over 25,000 employers visiting the site every month. "Marketing" pulls over 50 job sites. When we searched for marketing recruitment agencies by skill set with the keyword "account executive," we found around 56 agencies listed.

Analytic Recruiting (US)
This recruiter specializes in jobs requiring analytical and quantitative skills. Dozens of middle and upper-middle level jobs in marketing, operations, finance, manufacturing, planning and systems are listed. Marketing analysts and database marketers are particularly in demand. Based in New York City, Analytic Recruiting has over three decades of experience.

Bernhart Associates Executive Search LLC (US)
For more than two decades, Jerry Bernhart has placed direct marketers across all job categories and at all levels, but now concentrates on recruiting for more senior-level positions. Bernhart has high visibility nationwide as a leading writer and speaker on topics related to direct marketing recruiting and employment, and he conducts a widely-followed survey that tracks DM hiring trends that is published by the DMA.

Bernhart describes his firm as a boutique agency focusing in Digital Marketing, Multichannel Direct Marketing and E-commerce across all major industries.

Crandall Associates (US)
These experienced direct response recruiters are savvy. Register your profile and receive Crandall's current Direct & Interactive Marketing National Salary Guide.

Crandall's interview and resume advice goes above the ordinary. Resumes, for example, need not be just one page if you have good reason to go longer. Crandall has been doing business from New York City for 40 years.

Executive Search International (Worldwide)
This small firm, has been recruiting for companies in the consumer packaged goods industry since 1990. Click the "Placements" button from the homepage to see sample jobs. Typical placements are for directors of marketing, brand managers, product managers, account managers and sales reps.

Filcro Media Staffing
Filcro Media Staffing recruits and identifies executives within the broadcasting disciplines required to facilitate business, technical and creative goals in regional and national media markets in the United States, Europe, Asia and South America. The firm is located in New York, the media and communications capital of the United States and has access to the richest grouping of media executives in the world.

Fristoe & Carleton Advertising Recruiters (US)
Based in Hudson, Ohio, F&C has been recruiting advertising and marketing professionals since 1981. Open searches reveal categorized openings for mostly middle-rank positions like account executives, copywriters, art directors, creative directors, media buyers, designers and PR directors.

Hays Personnel (UK, Europe and Worldwide)
Search more than 250 media and marketing jobs at this large European recruiting firm. Its handsome site has the usual amenities, such as resume posting, email job alerts and forwarding listings to friends.
Career advice includes how to respond to inappropriate questions on job interviews. You might ignore the question in favor of addressing the concern behind the question, saying, "I think what you are asking is…" This lets you guide the interview back to safe ground.

Heidrick & Struggles (Worldwide)
Oriented toward senior executives, H&S offers executive searches and leadership consulting services including talent management and board building. Specialty practices include Advertising & Communications, Consumer Goods and Media & Entertainment. Find the office nearest you.

Herbert Mines (US)
Herbert Mines Associates is one of the nation's top executive search firms, focusing on executive recruiting for consumer industries in the retail, consumer products, fashion/apparel, digital/e-commerce, hospitality, food service and private equity markets.

Howard-Sloan-Koller Group (US)
The Howard-Sloan-Koller Group specializes in media, advertising and entertainment, recruiting in functions found in print publishing, digital media, advertising, public relations, direct marketing, sales promotion, broadcast and cable.

One of New York's veterans in the field, HSK was founded in 1957.

International Computer Professional Associates (Japan, Greater China, Korea and South East Asia)
With offices in San Francisco and Tokyo, ICPA recruits in sales, marketing, consumer goods and other fields for employers in Japan, the United States and Europe. We found 20 jobs at all levels of seniority in sales and marketing. The firm has more than 20 years of experience.

Lucas Group (US)
With more than 40 years in business, this is a large, sophisticated recruiter with middle and senior-level positions across many fields. Specialized teams focus on the Advertising/Marketing and Consumer Products fields. Offices throughout the United States.

Mangieri/Hull Solutions (US)
Direct marketing recruiters since 1994, with additional competency in searches within CRM, e-commerce, database marketing, digital marketing, digital analytics, loyalty marketing, retention marketing, SEO and SEM.

MarketingHeadhunter.com (US)
A fantastic headhunter blog with information for career seekers such as job interview tips and salary negotiating tips. Online marketers will do well here.

MarketPro (Atlanta and US)
Marketing recruiters with a strong Atlanta base. Its website lists about two dozen jobs concentrated in product and account management, market research and project managing. Candidates may register for email notifications about new openings.

MLB Associates (US)
Founded by MaryLou Brown in 1997, this firm recruits mid-and senior-level executives for direct marketing and Internet companies. Based in Lake Placid, NY, MLB is fairly well-known, especially on the east coast. They maintain a list of current searches on the site.

On Target Recruiting (US)
On Target Recruiting applies the experience of President Tim Gaffney, a veteran of the consumer packaged goods industry. The website lists a number of product and brand management jobs, with some director-level positions as well.

Oya's Directory of Recruiters/Marketing Recruiters (US)
A directory of hundreds of marketing recruiters, the site also links to DCA Professionals Search, which specializes in the placement of Hispanic advertising and marketing professionals nationwide.

Profiler (US)
Since 1997, this firm specializes in placing sales and marketing professionals in the interactive space.

Recruiters Online Network (Worldwide)
RON is a collection of recruiting services that helps recruiting firms post jobs, broadcast jobs and search resumes. It also provides an extensive directory of recruiters in categories, such as Advertising, Internet/Intranet, Marketing, Printing and many others. Search engine lets you scan through the recruiters' job listings across the entire site. A keyword "marketing" search returned 570 job-related results. The site also allows job seekers to post and edit a resume.

Ricci Lee Hubbart Associates, Inc.
They provide executive search services to the sectors of internet, software enterprise, financial services, consumer packaged goods in both the B2B and B2C fields.

Talent Zoo (US)
This firm recruits for dozens of advertising, marketing and media positions nationwide. The site contains almost 16,000 entry through senior-level marketing job postings, a salary monitor with popular job titles and locations, and an option to upload a resume.

Victoria James Executive Search (US)
Victoria James recruits mid- and senior-level executives for direct marketing and Internet communities. Well-established and respected, register to learn about current openings. Useful articles on managing your career are found on the Career Busters page.

Web Marketing Recruiter
