Welcome messages are one of the first communication points that a brand has with its
subscribers, so imparting a positive impression and setting expectations is crucial
for building the foundation for an ongoing dialogue. The biggest challenge with
Maxwell House's welcome program was reconnecting and actively engaging subscribers
who hadn't been contacted in over a year while establishing a channel of communication
with those who had recently signed up. Sending an identical message to such disparate
audiences would have been an ineffective marketing strategy as well potentially
resulting in ISP blocking and a negative brand perception if handled incorrectly.
Through careful consideration of all aspects of the email experience, the campaign
was a huge success. Sorry, the judges promised this winner that we would keep their
results private. However, be assured that we have seen all the data and were thoroughly
impressed!
