SUMMARY: Every marketer must "bring something to the table." Each marketing position requires certain competencies that do not always show up on a résumé. Most often, these mental capacities can be key determinants for success. Marketers must be able to integrate themselves into a team to achieve success.
This week’s chart analyzes the importance our 1,600 survey respondents placed on each of the four aptitudes necessary for personal and professional success. |

For years (thanks to a boss long time ago who got it from I don't know where) I've used something similar - Character, Competence, and Communication. But I draw it in the form of a Venn diagram rather than a Pie chart. Because you want the candidate that has all three overlapping. Not going to finish well if you hire someone who has the Competence but not the Character for example. "Capacity" above is part of my Competence definition, and "Chemistry" in my definition of communication. But a variety of labels work.
