URL shorteners -- particularly the free ones -- are used by spammers, too. Plus, think of how it looks to your subscribers: they'll think you're trying to hide the site you're actually linking to. If your message contains a URL you can't be proud of, won't stand behind, won't take responsibility for, then DON'T SEND THAT MESSAGE.
