Web Versions of Traditional Direct Mail: Online Lift Notes Tested

SUMMARY: No summary available.
The lift note, a classic direct mail marketing technique, has found its way online. Traditionally lift notes are small folded notes included in direct mail packages in addition to full-sized letters. They offer a quicker read, an alternate voice, or most often another reason to buy; and serve to overcome sales objections that the regular letter and brochure might not have.

Chrisi Darrington, Publisher of the eBiz Training Center, has been testing an electronic version of the lift note on her marketing site. At the bottom of its home page, after very lengthy sales copy, a simple line reads, "Click here only if you do not plan on ordering". Users land on a page that tries to overcome objections by detailing Darrington's guarantee.

Does it work? Darrington says, "I don't actually have too many people click on that link, however, I have had sales as a result." So, it's definitely worth other online marketers testing. To see it for yourself go to the link below (and be prepared to scroll for awhile.)
